Survivors Left Behind to Benefit from Donation for TAPS Good Grief Camps & Survivor Support
McLean, VA – Families of our fallen military don’t have to grieve alone, thanks to a donation by The Engle Group to TAPS, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.
Helping the surviving families of our fallen military through TAPS is a natural fit for The Engle Group. “These families have given everything for us and for our country,” said Marty Engle, President and CEO of The Engle Group. “It is absolutely our duty to give back and provide support in every way we can.”
TAPS is the national organization providing compassionate care to anyone grieving the death of someone who served in the military. TAPS provides peer-based emotional support, grief and trauma resources, seminars for adults, Good Grief Camps for children, case work assistance, and a 24/7 resource helpline for all who have been affected by a death in the Armed Forces.
Donors and TAPS programs will be recognized at the annual TAPS Honor Guard Gala, being held April 5, 2011 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington.
While our nation’s capital city hosts many fundraising events, none are as poignant as the TAPS Honor Guard Gala. At this event, widows, children, parents and other survivors of our fallen military sit next to leading entertainers, CEOs, military leaders and supporters to talk about how TAPS has helped their families following the death of a loved one in military service.
TAPS is one of several key organizations locally and internationally The Engle Group supports through sponsorships and donations. Other organizations include DC Central Kitchen, which provides meals for the hungry in the D.C. metropolitan area, Youth for Tomorrow, which is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and compassionate environment for at-risk youth who have been abandoned, abused, or otherwise alienated from family and community, and Heifer International, which provides sustainable support to people in need around the world
